Vendor Spotlight: MM Wedding Events

Based in Essex, London, MM Wedding Events was founded by Sherrie Envill.
I asked Sherrie to provide a bit of background information on how MM Wedding Events got started, I was very touched by what she sent me and I am sure she would not mind if I shared it with you:

From Sherrie:

"It all began:

After my son was born, I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer, I was lucky to have an op to remove the cancer and now I have been all clear for a year. At the same time by partner lost his dad to cancer, so I decided to organise a charity ball and dinner in aid of cancer research.

I organised everything from start to finish and found a real passion for events planning. Due to the illness I did not manage to get back to work full time, so I started this up to generate some extra income and hopefully lay the foundations to turn this into my full time occupation. I am taking a wedding planner course in 3 weeks so I am soon to be qualified, not only help with stationery but with the wedding planning as well."

I've had a look at her stationary and it is really good, I especially love items with the 'personal touch' and she certainly provides that, creating bespoke Wedding stationary to suit your colour scheme, theme and budget.
I'd like to share some of her work with you and please visit her facebook page with even more photographs profiling her portfolio of work to date, she doesn't just cater to Wedding's :)

I love this ivory guestbook and if you have butterflies as a theme, it would be a perfect addition to your day.

I love this, very rock n roll :)

These are really something special aren't they?

I love the pearls on this guestbook and the dusky pink colour really compliments well with ivory.

I love this colour scheme, very timeless and classy.

Lovely lilac and ivory.

So not only Wedding Stationary, Sherrie's talent extends into events. I can't believe the transformations of these rooms, I would love to be a guest at an event dressed by MM Wedding Events... Have a look and I am sure you will agree with me too...

And after:

Wow wee, what a transformation! I am sure you will agree that Sherrie is one talented lady and I wish her every success with MM Wedding Events. Please contact her directly (details on the first image on this post) if you would like to enquire about her services. Or visit her facebook page for more pictures.

Wedding Favours

A traditional Wedding favour to give your guests on your special day are five sugar almonds. Each symbolising Health, Wealth, Happiness, Long Life and Fertility. A lovely sentiment when you think about it.

These days they can be any colours that take your fancy, they can even match your Wedding colours!

They are normally gift wrapped in either tulle or organza bags or intricate little favour boxes.  Some of these favour boxes can be as classic or as unique as you are!

Organza favour bags from goweddingfavours.co.uk

If you are having a Winter or Christmas theme, these little boxes are very fitting, all of the styles are lovely and unqiue, perhaps you could even mix them up a bit?

What about these tuxedo's for the men?

I love these boxes from www.ukweddingfavours.co.uk :

If you just can't envisage sugar almonds on your special day, how about these unique ideas for favours (link coming soon!).

Beautiful Wedding Vows

I like the idea of writing our own vows, nothing too slushy, but meaningful and full of love and appreciation.

Here are some top tips from TheWeddingPlanner.co.uk for writing your own vows:

If it is a civil ceremony you can get involved in practically the whole service. But remember, there can be no religious content and because it is a legal procedure you will have to work within the guidelines of the law.

  • You should work closely with your minister or registrar who needs to approve your written vows at least a month before the wedding.
  • Decide whether you want one wedding vow that you both say or, have individual vows. If individual, try to keep them both the same length.
  • As your vows are a public declaration for others to witness, it is advisable not to make them too intimate.
  • This is your chance to include your children, family and friends
  • Write down all the special times you’ve experienced together: how it felt when you realized you were in love; how your partner has supported you during difficult times; how you feel marriage will change your life together; how you see your futures in 30 years time; if you have children, how family life has been made special
  • To inspire you, look in poetry books and books of quotations under “love” and “marriage” and watch your favourite love story movie; note your feelings and emotions
  • Use a thesaurus to find love related words so not to repeat too often
  • Condense your notes to about 120 well chosen words and expressions
  • Include your guests by asking for their blessing and support
  • Practice reading it out loud in front of a trusted friend
  • When you are happy with it, give a copy to your registrar or minister
  • On the day, speak slowly and clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear

I have found a few examples of lovely wedding vows online that really do say what I would like to say on the 'big day' :)

So I thought I would share these with you, you never know they might be ideal for you too!

I love this from Perfect Wedding on Facebook;

Traditional Vs None-Traditional:

I actually stumbled across this on Google a while back, it is cute:

I love this:

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end
with the honeymoon, it should continue through the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy. It is speaking words of appreciation
and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow old.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right partner.
