For our wedding music, we booked an awesome quartet called the Sonoro Quartet (based in Staffordshire, UK). They were brilliant to work with and encapsulated exactly what we wanted, we loved the idea of having a quartet play modern songs that we both loved and it made it traditional and exciting without it being stuffy, classical music (not that there's anything wrong with that). With our venue, classical music didn't suit what we were aiming for which was a very relaxed and charming atmosphere. My inspiration for modern pieces came from looking up 'The Vitamin String Quartet' on YouTube who cover all modern songs using strings, they really are spectacular - look them up. The Sonoro Quartet were great and managed to play the majority of the songs we selected, as seen on our music schedule below:
(As you can tell, I really, really love spreadsheets) :) The Sonoro Quartet asked our videographer if she had any footage of them playing at our wedding that they could use for their website, and Laura (Vision Wave Videos) kindly gave them this segment to use, which also means it is on YouTube for all to see also. Here is the video of the guests getting ready, as the bride, I didn't get to hear any of this bit so it was lovely to be able to see and hear what the guests were experiencing while we were getting ready:
